The development is going on nicely, as it seems :) So you're going to make your remake read the data from the original files, or what?

im gonna use extracted resources from the game i would also use the seed maps but i have actually no idea how it works it would be different using custom missions instead of original :(

@Stefan i've seen you're using seed files could you explain for what they are for?  ::)

maybe i'll code a map generator based on that

i've checked the new demo some days ago. great work!

there is a lot to do with units, special effects and so on

The seed files are the terrains for the dune 2 missions. But, fortunately the seed generator has been made already :) See this topic: http://forum.dune2k.com/index.php?topic=21709.0

Since you are using Allegro, I'd recommend using the .DAT files. I use it as well. It is actually a neat way of storing files and you'll get some compression as a bonus. Use the grabber tool to extract / create .DAT files. Also, if you havent done so, you should check out the Dune 2 The Maker source to get an idea how to do some things with Allegro. I bet you can use that to your advantage.

the dune 2 remake project is not really dead!

currently there will be a new project based on the remake.

i'm trying my best to get this game working as a mod in my new project.
