I know there are topics on this, but HELP. In the smugglers camp, there is this guy. If i try to kill him with my knife, these purple rings apear then dissapear. Whats that?

Then weres Chani?

You have to stab him until those rings quit, then shoot him till he's dead. Pick up the smugglers pass and gun then head through the door (wich is now open) and free Chani.

The rings are a shield-if you shoot him with lasgun while the shield is on, you both die.

After you disable the shield with the knife use the lasgun to kill him (actually you can use any weapon but lasgun has the higher ROF). Before you encounter this guy however make sure you have picked all ammunition you can find cos afterwards you 'll have to face multiple enemies.
