Unlock Emperor's Pre-Order Units?

I just found a download on the site which claims to 'Unlock Emperor's Pre-Order Units', what does this refer to?  I don't have Emperor on this laptop, so I can't test it out.

Probably allows you to choose the units for the starting units, if you do a game with starting units, if that makes sense.  ;D

Actually, I've since found out the answer, and what happened was, for the first two weeks after Emperor being released, the ADP, Air Defence Drone, and AA Mine were locked unless you had pre-ordered the game.

Surely then online play would have resulted in Out Of Synch errors?

If I recall it correctly, an old Westwood employee commented on it here. He said that it was possible to use the units online, but they were only available for building to people who pre-ordered.
