Sneakgab
You're local perpetually computer ignorant fellow returns once more! I just installed the program by which the thread is entitled after receiving a prompt that SA has no ''more upload slots'' which which to download (??) and that with this is in my toolbar I would be able to bypass this limitation. Frankly, that sounds too good to be true so I'm asking if anyone has heard of this software or something similar as I suspect adware and/or viruses. Not that I decided against installing it anyway... :P :D
Vanguard3000
1) What do you mean by SA?2) What do you mean by "no more upload slots?3) As a general rule, if it's a toolbar, it's spy/ad/malware. Or at the very least, a waste of CPU runtime. These guys say the Megaupload Toolbar is in connection with the Alexis Toolbar. Although Megaupload won't sell your information, they may give it to Alexis, which will.now here are some tutorials on how to downlaod stuff without using the toolbar.http://www.bridgetonova.com/2007/06/how-to-download-from-megaupload-without.html (Firefox)http://www.bridgetonova.com/2007/08/how-to-download-from-megaupload-without.html (Opera and IE)I also strongly suggest that, if you've already used the toolbar, that you download and run SuperAntiSpyware to remove any malicious programs. Sneakgab
Thanks. I ran a virus scan right after installing it. My virus definitions SHOULD be up to date and I think my anti-adware is OK. Regardless, I have yet to be attacked by spyware though I may have been more subtly infected. Ie: the spyware is just sending my info out as opposed to acting on this and changing my home page and whatnot. Of I have already uninstalled the program. The site did seem pretty ''official'' though and their talk of being the leading provider of their software type enhanced that. But of course, that is to be expected from someone trying to distribute spyware. How big is SuperAntiSpyware?. I have to watch my monthly cap...(edit) nevermind, the comparison is there. 3 edits in the space of 20 mins :D. SA = South Africa.
