I was just thinking, we use a lot of abbreviations in our posts, and to someone new to Dune these might be quite confusing, so perhaps we could set up a list and sticky it?  I'll get the ball rolling.

CoD - Children of Dune.

GEoD - God Emperor of Dune

HA - House Atreides.  Generally refers to the book.

HK - House Harkonnen.  Generally refers to the book.

HC - House Corrino.  Generally refers to the book.

OCB - Orange Catholic Bible

BG - Bene Gesserit

BT - Bene Tleilax

Ever read Dune Appendix II? It's about the religions of Dune. That's where CET is from.

TP is also commented in the Glossary, and used by the Emperor when he is confronted by Alia, who explains that her communication with Mohiam is not telepathy.

How often do you use those abbreviations?

If this is a thread for newcomers to understand them, then you are only confusing them.

I thought this was supposed to be the abbreviations we use when discussing here, not the ones used in the books? ???

To be honest, I missed the whole "to help newcomers" part :-[ There aren't too many Dune-specific abbreviations altogether anyway, so I thought adding these two would be... useful?
