I've never played any Dune games before a week ago, and it was only after seeing Dune listed in a top publication as one of the best science fiction novels ever that i decided to find out more about this whole "Dune" thing. I already knew the games existed but never really thought about getting them. Last week I got Dune 2000 and it turned out to be rather entertaining, though was too much of a clone of C&C for my liking. I played it on, though, just to get to grips with the story and the setting and all that.

But I got E:BFD working today and bloody hell, it's better than the trailer made it out to be. I've only played the tutorial so far but I was simply taken aback by how amazing the graphics are. I was honestly expecting something similar to Red Alert 2, since it was made just a year afterwards. But my god, the graphics so easily rival that of any modern game (and I'm thinking C&C 3 in particular)

Anyway I don't really have anything useful to add, I just thought i'd express my satisfaction.

Oh a quick question: I managed to install and run the game off the EMPEROR1 CD. What are the other three CDs for?

Welcome to the the community hope to see you online for a few games. You will find the online games very different from the single player games but for the most part we're a friendly helpful bunch.  ;)

Man I can't help but think that the guys that designed and made Emp. such a ground-breaking game, are probably not doing too well job wise. Well game designing anyway, which is a sad ass thing. I may be wrong and I hope they are doing well and possibly making another game like Emp. I mean to this day playing Emp on all high setts, blows many games out today away on graphics and game-play. It is an awesome display of game making craftsmanship at it's best. I honestly don't think there will ever be another game that will rival EBFD. Man if only Chris Longpre could get his old mates back together and make another similar to it.......yep,IF ONLY  :'( :'( Hell I would even donate to the effort.

Ah well, just a pipe-dream.

Run Welcome!

Hope to see you online;  ;D

I recently started playing C&C Generals and man no comparison to EBFD. Emperor truly rules all strategy games with out a doubt.
