gryphon
It's your router which has UPnP. And no it doesn't slow your connection down. :)

gryphon
It allows you to discover network devices and manage them more easy, next to that some games need it to request open ports from the router, you don't have to manually do it saving you the hassle. lowzeewee
Internet Gateway also somehow found its way into my computer three weeks ago, and it's still there now.
gryphon
You need an UPnP component installed and an UPnP device for it to work.
