Ok, I signed up for hotmail live, got my invite today and surprise! The invite in the email (at hotmail) doesn't work in Firefox.

Before giving up, I opened IE (with IEview) and signed into hotmail, deleted my 90 junk mail I got in the past 48 hours (Microsoft was supposed to have eliminated spam by now, as Bill Gates himself said 2 years ago.)

Also, in IE there were 2 large ads, one at the top and right side...

Firefox:

IE:

Ok, that's fine.

New version of hotmail looks better, but still cluttered (at least with the huge microsoft ads at the top and right side)

I don't think I like the whole taskpane thing for the messages.

Ok, when I sign in under Firefox, it says they are not done with making it fully compatible with other browsers. Hmm, seems the taskpane thing is not present in Firefox, which I like.

Hahaha, there are no ads under firefox as I use adblock and filterset.g, awesome.

I still hope they fix the whole "save sent message for 30 days, then say goodbye to it"

Not that it matters, as I will be using gmail. Still converting over my email. But then I need hotmail so that contacts in msn messenger who email me I get them. I don't feel like starting my gmail address for msn protocol, as I'd have to inform all the contacts.

Hehheh, no wonder that it doesn't work in Firefox. Of course Microsoft wants you to use Internet Explorer.  ::)

Gmail is more than enough for me. It's fast, it doesn't have advertisements and the interface is clear without any extravagancies.

Isn't Microsoft trying to beat Google with a new searching engine, too? I doubt they will succeed in making a better one.

I use gmail :)

Microsoft did release a new search page end of last year. Wasn't very popular.

Think it is

http://search.msn.com/

Oddest thing about hotmail and firefoxl (possibly in IE as wel). I go to hotmail.com, sign in, and it takes me to a sympatico page, which is not hotmail, and I have to click on a hotmail button to get into hotmail. Very frustrating.

So far hotmail live in firefox is quite useless as there are no features that are present in IE version.

Using Windows Live Mail, when viewing the junk folder, it still allows in the right pane for the message to show up (when I first click on junk mail). What if the message contained a virus? Or when going to junk mail I accidentally click on a link in the junk mail which leads me to a virus.

Not that secure.

I do like how you can right click on everything and tell it what to do.

Yeah, but you usually don't get a lot lot of spam from the same email address. At least that I've noticed. I've gotten the same spam from several different email addresses within minutes.
