But after all the Sardaukar is some of the best warriors in the entire duniverse.

True, it says in House Corrino: The Sardaukar match all the houses armies together in strength

But the Barron is a over weight idiot whos only advantage his his mentant who when comapred to Hyat is no matach. Oh and you reamber in the prequel the atreides liberated ix. From the sardens. If the atreides liberated ix from the sadukar who the barron fears so much.....so if you use that logic.......the harks are no match for the atreides.

but on Ix there where 'only' two legions of Sardukar + they had help from the inside + the emperor didn't expect it

Copec wanted the Position so badly he killed his own dad.

Copec is a disgrace of the Harkonnen. a True Harkonnen kill their own friend's.... Business partners.... Torture some Atreides.... But never kill their own dad

Aww, back to the topic...

The answer is simply: WW made their games balanced!

In the books, FH wrote it in a more realistic way, with treachery, diplomatics etc.etc., but how on earth is treachery possible in D2k or Emperor? (well, you could suddenly declare war on  your ally with a big army in his base, but... that's no fun  :))

In the games, everything is balanced (If you practice you can beat even the biggest mino rush with harks... although it's hard. Ordos have cheap, speedy units --> hit and run tactics

Harkonnen have inaccurate, but very powerful forces --> stay defensive until your army is big enough to atleast bury half a base in the sand, then start with small tank raids... they won't survive

Atreides have good AA and defense, and good units in general - But if you get them in trouble early, they're dead, while the others have a better chance of surviving the small raids to finish off their base.

Nearly completely balanced.

The books have to have a 'big strong evil powerful etc.etc. enemy', a 'good, noble, etc.etc. guy with many enemies', and all those things can only slightly be put into the game - Only the storyline, and some units show that.

The Atreides is supose to reflect good and loyalty in the Dune universe.

While the Harkonnen reflect's evil and cruelty.

Good and evil is always equal to eachother. Atreides and Harkonnen "are" equal.

I'm reading one of the book's right now. I like the Worm hunt part of the book House Atreides. Rabban getting pissed at Thekar.
