Which is better, Dune 2 or Dune 2000?

I don't know what section to put this under, so I will just put in the gaming section. Which one is better? I have played Dune 2000 and loved the FMW cut sceans though I hated the AI for the game. I just downloaded Dune 2 so I don't know how it plays, though I did see the intro, with the horrible voice actors and cheesey combat.

I was introduced into the Dune world with Dune 2000, so with that and the nostalgia I get from it, I have no choice but to say Dune 2000... I've only recently begun to tinker with Dune 2 (after discovering it's downloadable legally) and it looks god-awful lol. I'm going back to Dune 2000...  ;)

I have played Dune2 since 1993 or 1994. It was an incredible game then, and I still feel that nastolgia. Dune2000 was an okay remake with better AI and skirmish etc.. Technically it is ofcourse much better. But when you compare Dune2 to other game of that time, Dune2 was among the best. Whereas Dune2000 is only mediocore compared to the other games from 1998

So should I try Dune 2 or should I just keep playing Dune 2000?

Well, if you're anxious you could play dune2. But it's rather odd to play i assume for someone who hasn't played it before, but it'll take you a couple of steps back from dune2000. If you do play, make sure you get till mission 5, because then it's getting fun. Mission 1 and 2 are extremely boring.

But I realy don't know if you'll like it that much when you're used to dune2000 or better. Nonetheless, maybe you'll actually like it because it's dune, and the first (popular) real time strategy game.

Being of the Tiberian Dawn era, it was extremely difficult getting used to Dune 2's interface that had no band-boxing, and required constant usage of the keyboard in order to maximise efficiency of control. I couldn't get past mission 3 :-
