Max Payne 2 - "I/O error 23"

Today I picked up my copy of Max Payne 2, wanting to play it abit again, but when I tried installing it said "I/O error 23". the disc is a bit scratched.

Any help on this?

Try to install on another computer that should be able to play the game. If it installs on that computer, it is probably your computer, if it does not, then the cd is the problem.

I/O error. . think it must be hardware. can you attack a directX file so we can spot possible driver conflicts and try the disk on another PC.

Win32 Error 23 is, in English:

Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

Which means that the disc is indeed scratched and the computer cannot read a particular file from it. You'll have to find another copy. :( Alternately some CD-ROM drives can read scratches better than others, try a different PC if you have one.
