The Thumper is a dune 2000 infantry unit that uses a thumper, which is a device for calling worms. That's not an umbrella, that is the thumper device.

(apologies if the question was humour)

Oh, and the answer is nothing.

And when you use one try to move them far away from your harvesters/speice fields and enemy territories. It's kinda embarrasing when your thumper gets slain and the worms start to feed on your units. :-

It has been said before, and i'll repete it again,

All the units in your arsenal have some use, even if its not clear to you.

I'll give you some exampels of what you can do with the thumper:

- you can attract worm with it and by doing that you'll keep them away from your harvesters, just make sure the thumper is far away from the harvest zone.

- another use for the thumper is placing some of them (as the number of worms in the level/practice) near an enemy base, after you have them under the thumper move the dude and the worms will attack the nearest units = your enemy's units.

- the problem with thumpers is that they also attract your enemy who wants to kill them, no worries mate! you can use a strategy here called diverssion, whether you deside to attack your enemy's less protected base or the units which threatens your thumper is up to you.

Hmmmh... thats all i can think about now, personaly I dont use them couse it takes too much time to manoeuvre the enemy and I can use faster and more afficient tactics, and there is also the fact we dont play with worms on the net so you cant build them.

Ophirus.
