More so then the last one that gave me an error with the runtimes for C or something ? I forget the exact error now...

:D

Good to hear you are working on it, and I think it wrong of you to let some pathetic payed work get in the way of something so important !

It's your computer that's causing that error... Hehe.

The program itself is almost flawless.

Some computers have an old runtime library.

I have since reinstalled XP again, as part of the recommended yearly reinstalls (recommended on this iste, by the way). I will retry it and if it works you can halt development on your new version  ;) and if it fails, you can continue  :P

I will let you know how it goes.

You will want PowerSwapper 2 because it's about twice as fast as the original version, and more user friendly.

Also, the old Dune2k server went down, and I'll have to find a new server. That one I've already worked out.

In addition to that, I also need to upload ALL the mods, and not just around five.

So have the appropriate forms been filled out, the bribes been given ? Have you presented Mahdi with a new hat, or at least a donation to his Hat Fund ?

By the way, Erjin, an alpha is just around the corner.

And as usual, Dune2k will be the testers of the closed alpha.

I decided to show a life sign of the project.

Here's a screen that shows the mods I have for Emperor.

As you can see, PowerSwapper is now more user friendly by far, and you can even add icons to your mods (as shown with Kwisatz Haderach 2. I found a suitable sand dune using Google). Its new graphics should make it more fun to use too.

If you have noticed, the game itself is now among the mods. This will help the user as game and mod is no longer separate things.

The game is now a folder, which the mods and the original version are placed inside.

It's not a shell at all, actually.

Every aspect is renewed.

* The mod file format uses a brand new compression algorithm reducing the load time to a maximum of 60% of the old format.

* The mod file can store an icon for the mod.

* Database system instead of file system.

  - Makes it faster to list your mods, especially if you wish to sort them.

  - Makes it faster to search for a mod or a game.

  - Makes it possible to implement a system where you can add prerequisites to your mod, like it can only install itself if no other mod from its group is

already installed, or no other mod at all is installed, and things like that.

* Brand new download manager. Accomodates several protocols servers can choose from, and will have a nice look.

However, it's not created yet, and is on the to do list.

The database system is nearly complete, and the new file format is 100% complete.

Estimated time left would be four work days.

However, I have a job besides doing this, which takes most of my time on weekdays...

Oh I see, your need to eat gets priority does it ?  :P  Joking !

What I meant by shell was that it might not be fully functional, not that it was like a wrapper for the old one, if thats what you thought I meant !

Nice work and keep it up.
