game.exe has detected a problem???????????

hey...,

i was trying to install emperor on my hp laptop....it didnt work...it stoped at 99%.....so i used the install patch wich is found here on dune 2k...ok, now im able to install...but when i try to run emp, i get a windows error message like: "game.exe has detected a problem and need to close" - i try to translate the german words...hehe

do any1 know hoew to solve the problem, or what thats a problem for???

I was thinking more about license agreements and that kind of thing. I figured the game was not aware it was being installed on another computer (his laptop)...

Erm, because I know he has been playing from his computer for ages because I play with him loads and we chat a lot.  ???

the game itself doesn't know it's already installed on another computer.....

And I thought you knew this from this statement. I thought you were accepting that it was installed on another computer.

yeah the game is installed on 3 desktop pc`s in our house in the lan....it works well on all machines except on the laptop.

without the installpatch, it says that it cant instakll coz of a file wich is delettet or not found (i diont remember)...now i used the install patch wich can be found here in the emperor downloads and im able to installed now.....but by starting the game (i klick the emperor.exe) it says that the "game.exe" has detected a prob.

can you attach yoru directX file. . and what kind of grafics card does your laptop has ?

Whe you tried to install it again with the patch, the second time, did you install it to the same location ? I am thinking maybe the registry might have been messed up.

yeah it was the same directory maybe....and it seems like i have some troubles with the graph card.....but i cant find out what kind of graph card i have....i used 2 hardware tools like "dr.hardware" but not even this tool was able to tell me the name of the card....so i guess i have to look forthe cd`s wich i bought with the laptop.....duno if i can find em....hjehje
