Seriously, Rookie. I am going to say it one last time, abortions in those circumstances should be legal, because both the mother and child would die. It is unnecessary abortions that should not be legal.

EDIT: Holy crap! First post on a page, finally.

Hey... I go outside... sometimes...

So, are all poor people in the United States on welfare? If this is true, and if the humanitarian coverage is as extensive as you say, then it would appear that having more children is a benefit to you, rather than a detriment.

actually it is...

it is actually better to have more children and be considered "poor" because you get way more handouts.

Aside from all the free stuff i mentioned on the previous page.... poor families also get free FINANCIAL AID for college.

Yeah but that's just because she has to spend more money on her kids. It's not like she would be living it up with her new found wealth. She has more cheques because she has more expenses. It's like people in third world countries who think they'll be better off if they have more kids because they'll have more workers in the family. They fail to realise that they'll be in the same situation just with more

ah true .. BUT ... if you balance your budget right you can feed them and cloth them and provide what is needed.  Especially when you get so many things for FREE in addition to the welfare checks and vouchers.

She wont be able to buy them a playstation... but thats not life-threatening.

But the free stuff is, I'm guessing, things like baby food, daipers, clothes for toddlers etc. (Correct me if I'm wrong) But what happens when they hit 10, 11, 12? Surely all this great free stuff would disappear pretty quickly.

That's true. And if the government does withdraw aid, that should not happen. People in poverty should be provided with aid until they are of age to enter the workforce and make livings for themselves.

In any case, the solution is more government-funded humanitarian aid. Not killing poor people before they are born.

good question

there is something called FREE lunch at the elementry schools, middle schools, and high schools.

Thats right maybe you probably didnt notice it when you were going to school.. but ... many kids were carrying around FREE lunch meal tickets.

As for breakfast and dinner... welfare checks /vouchers  will take care of that.

As far as clothes/ toys .. there is the Salvation Army...

and public school is free as well.

need medical attention?... the public health department will give you what you need.

then when they get to college... the FREE financial aid checks they get per semester will cover their food/housing/tuition...

so KHAN i would say you are incorrect... the benefits dont disappear when they grow-up

they are always around.

Well Since I don't live in the US it is kinda hard for me to comment, all I can do is talk about things I know for sure and make assumptions based on things that happen in the UK.

yea i wasnt referring to you exactly with that statement since you are in the UK.

But you are telling me that in the UK poor kids dont get free lunch tickets at the public schools?

What about a woman who knowingly goes out and drinks lots of alchol and loses the baby that way?

i do not know how intentional poisoning (alcohol) or stressing of the fetus (intense exercise)

is defined by the law.  Such things would be intensely hard to prove ...since the mother could keep the fact that she is pregnant a secret anyways.

Logically though...if it was accidental.. then it would be classified as a miscarriage ... if it was intentional then by definition it would be a forced miscarriage which would be the same as an abortion .

Er, well here public school are really expensive, not like public schools in the US, it is like a Private school in the US. The equivalent of a public school would be called a state school here. And no, people here don't get automatically get free lunch just because there parents can't get a job. However there is a new school starting up where poor people get money to continue studying after GCSEs (

"it is actually better to have more children and be considered "poor" because you get way more handouts"

Well, I don't know what they do over there, but here, the more you have, the less you get for each (actually, you get so much for the first, less for the second, less for the third, etc).

Besides, are you suggesting that you'll have a better life if you earn little and have more children to get the handouts? You have to pay for them, spend time bringing them up, deal with them... now if you've already got all the problems that come with poverty, are children really the tactical decision, the impression of which seems to emanate from your post?

" poor families also get free FINANCIAL AID for college"

By the way, uni for any English or Welsh citizen is about 80-90% subsidised by government here, and alongside student loans, everyone gets a fair edcuation. And the Scots get even more.

"But you are telling me that in the UK poor kids dont get free lunch tickets at the public schools?"

Heh, I wish they were all able to go to public schools... (=private schools here)

In state schools, I think there is such provision, but few take the government up on the offer.

So to get round this law all women have to do is go jogging, drink a lot and then say 'I didn't know I was pregnant'.

Great Law.

I think that is more of a school run offer than a government thing, Schools say that they'll do it and then the government gives them money, it isn't an automatic right for hobo kids.

Heh.. yep sick people can find loopholes around anything.

you can get around any law though.... there is a murder law that says you cant murder.

gunwounds, tell me this. How can you determine if a woman can have an abortion? Is it up to someone else to decide if she can have one?

Posted

Leto, the fact that he supports killing in war while pointing out how you support killing in abortion makes killing itself no less wrong.
