With all this stuff about Christianity being "oppressive" towards women, I'd like to talk about gay crime and gay violence.

I fail to see how having approximately the same percentage of domestic violence in gay and straight relationships is somehow working against us. Divorce percentages are about the same as well. If anything it shows that we're as bad as each other.

Besides, the reason the Christian Church is oppressive is not because it's violent (though that too) but because it dictates to people and will not accept any view but it's own. It is intolerant. And the gay community (for the most part) has a lot to teach you lot about tolerance.

As for the crime; besides the needless detail involved it's a crime that is repeated all over the world. Straight couples do things they shouldn't, gay couples do things they shouldn't, like I said, we're as bad as each other.

well dust I agree with empr on one thing, you seem to be tolerant to those things which most people are tolerant towards now days, which is all well and good but if you start to become intolerant of religion than you are no worse than those who are intolerant of other beliefs and opinions. It just sounds a bit two-faced, and there is a lot of that these days. Your a cool guy and just worried your opinions are focused towards that paradigm.

You know, you might be on to something there... Emprworm does appear to have an extraordinary revulsion to gays...

If we weren't tolerant of religion, we'd be calling for it's complete abolition and for all religious people to be 're-educated' because 'it's just psychological.' Now correct me if I'm wrong but I don't see any gay people doing that to those who are religious. But what's this? The religious are doing it to people who are gay!

You know, Dust, with new technologies, Emprworm might as well be in the same hemisphere. It takes 8 hours to drive from state to state in the same region of the US. It takes only 7 to fly to the UK, and tack on another hour or two for a quick dash up to Scotland...

well firstly the fact that they are pro-gay.... secondly would be its content.

obviously you would not go to a gay-bashing site when trying to get sources for a discussion on gays.
