Well, it's obvious, isn't it? Merrit was in fact a fake sent to deceive us and undermine the real notes: he was just a ghola-cymek-clone concocted by the Evil Conspirators, whose identity is revealed only in the all-singing, all dancing, two, no, THREE climactic, never-to-be-repeated books (hitherto known only as Dune 7, 8, and 9) whose outlines were hidden away in the previously undiscovered no-room found in the REAL safety-deposit box!

Ahhh...it all becomes clear to me now...plots within plots, plans within plans...wheels within wheels...  :D ;D :D
