Random rebooting and lockups!!

I tried the game half hour ago and I get random reboots and lockups!!! I have the 1.09 patch whuch I got right after I downloaded the game with auto update.  

I have a kyro2 with windows 2000 sp2

what might be causing this?

I can't remember but is Emperor supported in Win2000?

yes it is but I have had similar experiences. During the time for attacking and choosing where to attack on the campaign map, this includes defending and campaign briefings the game would just exit into windows. I have no idea why but I get used to it even though it really bugs me.

Probably another soundblaster live guy. The kyro's good. Win 2000 has tons of problems with games. That sucks, but there's nothing you can do about it.

People just have to understand that Emperor is an unreliable game. Sad but true. The game also bombs out on my machine from time to time. Play AOE2 - at least that game doesn't bomb out on you.

Your having problems if your OS is windows 2000 go figure like Riper said there's nothing you can do about for what ever reasons that OS doesn't like games.

EBFD should work on Win2k.

The solution for the Voodoo 3 can be found in the summary of the Lockup issue thread on the official EBFD message board.

Gob, I haven't done that. Currently I'm writing some sort of FAQ to troubleshoot. All the suggestions in the thread will be there. Problem is that currently my job is eating lots of my time. But once done, I'll be sure to e-mail it to you.
