I hate the voices of the units that are selected in the same group. It`s very repetitive. It`s like:

Lets go! Let`s go !! Let

You would need to modify the sfx files found in the emperor folder...i'm not the best guy to ask about this though...ask apollyon or inoc or timenn...they should be able to explain how to do it... 8)

First of all open your datasfx folder of Emperor. Then make a backup of the OrdosSFX.txt, HarkonnenSFX.txt, AtreidesSFX.txt, and GeneralSFX.txt :)

Each file contains the references for each unit to their speech sound file. You can change the sounds that are being played in these files.

Open for example AtreidesSFX.txt, now scroll down (for quite some time) and you will see the speech sound names of the individual units appear, but since you only want to change the group sounds scroll down until you see this:

As you can see groups don't have alot to say (2 things per action, lines starting with ';' are ignored) so you can put new sounds into here, copy lines from the individual units listed above. I don't know what the limit of sounds is per action, but I'm sure you can put around 5 sounds for each action at least. Just go around testing with it, and see what sounds you like most.

Do the same for the Harkonnen and the Ordos. Note that GeneralSFX.txt contains the Subhouse sounds, and also the sounds for Subhouse group sounds.

The biggest problem is that even with the setting RANDOM enabled in the SFX files if you keep a group selected, it tends to say the same thing until unselected.

Most of my units in ICW had the list of sayings expanded to 4-5, and teams to 8-10 but I still heard a group I had selected say the same thing everytime I asked them to move. To change the saying you have to unselect the team group and then reselect...not really an option in the middle of a battle!
