Butlerian jihad books

Hey guys I dont see what the problem is with the butlerian jihad books and the 7th and last installment of Dune. I mean it wont be the same as the originals but it is Dune. I cant wait it will be so cool. Their writing style is different and watered down. Personally though it cant be judged just that easily. I would rather have the new books then nothing at all. Its going to be awesome.:)

actuaaly i'd like to know how the blood feud between the atreides and harkonnen started

          I'd like to see those books as well. The prequels were at least cool and interesting (compared to Herbert's books they are fan fiction :()

          I think the Harkonnen-Atreides feud started out at the Bridges of Hrethgir during the Butlerian Jihad. Before that Atreides and Harkonnens were allies. However, at the bridges the Harkonnens betrayed the cause at the last moment and joined in with the supporters of the thinking machines. However, the Atreides held out until the enemy was defeated. Since then the two houses are mortal enemies.

          P.S. I read it in 1 of the prequels

          P.P.S. Does anyone know where I can download the text of the Dune Encyclopedia? :)
