lol...this is maryland...what do you expect...the county next to mine, harford, closes at the first snow flake...3 snowflakes and they're out for a week...lol.  But here in cecil...we need at least an inch or so to cancel school... ;D

Pathetic.  Were at -43C with a windchill warning on top of that, and it's supposed to be colder, and my school isn't cancelled.  I even have frostbite!

I know, -50 and they hopefully will cancel school, cause if I have to walk 15 min to school, I am pretty sure I will have frostbite. (takes 10 min to get frostbite)

And taking a vehicle will expose my hands and thus more frostbite. it sucks.

We still got a blizzard warning on top of that.

Mine is on my ears.  I lost my toque at home,a nd it's too damned cold to travel all the way to the Zellers to get a new one.  I also forgot my gloves at home.  Stupid cold.

That's why some move to Florida during the winter.

And the funny thing is the U.S. thinks it is very cold down there right now. Well, Maine is kinda part of Canada. :P

But as for the rest they think -10 is cold... lol.

Take the windchill test:

I have the feeling I will be getting:

Frostnip:

a mild form of frostbite, where only the skin freezes

skin appears yellowish or white, but feels soft to the touch

painful tingling or burning sensation

http://www.msc.ec.gc.ca/education/windchill/cold_injury_e.cfm

Sadly I got that the other day.

I love the fact that my skin will freeze in minutes tomorrow.

Glad there is a small medical place on campus. :P

well we actually ended up getting a little less than an inch...not the 2-5 inches as expected...so we had school on time...and yes i did think it was really cold...lol...and it was probably like 10 degrees out there...lol ;D Americans are wimps when it comes to cold...lol my hair was wet when i walked outside and by the time i reached my bus stop...my hair was frozen solid :D we're also under a wind chill advisory tonight into tomorrow morning becuz with the wind it will feel like about -10 degrees.

Well here I have a little rant about my university and city people working for gov.

So I get up at 10 AM like usual, finish up my assignments, get ready for university. I check the website, it's not closed. So I shovel a path about 2 meters long that is 2 feet deep in snow, get my schoolbag and start walking to university. Great thing is the sidewalks are not cleared and I'm not walking thru 2 feet of snow for 15 minutes. (not taking taxi eithor as they are expensive)

So I have to walk down University avenue which is one of the busiest streets on PEI. So there are vehicles about 1-2 feet away from me driving by the whole time. (coming at me) So I get to the end of my walk hyperventalating and I notice the little sidewalk snowblower guy that clears the sidewalks. (and so I curse at it) So I figure that it will be cleared by the time I leave classes at 2:15. As soon as I get to class our teacher tells us that University will be closing at 12:00. I was really angry that I walked all the way to university for nothing. So I proceeded to call my roomie to see if she had a vehicle, but she didn't. So I figured I could withstand another walk home.

So I walked out to the sidewalk and to my dismay saw the sidewalk full of snow!! The snowblower guy mst have turned around or something. So I started cursing and yelling.

I then proceeded back to my apt on the road in almost zero visibility with vehicles 1-2 feet away driving by. Luckily a van pulled over with students and asked if I wanted a drive about 1/2 way home. I thanked them and got in apt.

Then went to sobeys and got food.(in a car)

That was my crappy day. So I think we are gonna start drinking since no school today.

One of my professors said or universities' motto is

We never close.

2 hours later and I am still tired and sore.

Yesterday university closed at 4 PM after all my classes were done. and after we got lots of snow.
