yes. . if you have 2 computers or more connected with UTP cables [ default network cables ] you can play Dune2000 over a LAN without the need of the Internet. :)

If the computers are in the same room you could use an ethernet cable (the big phone wires(<...> or three boxes arranged in a triangle)) or just a phone wire but I think that needs a modem :-?

If you miss the LAN button in the main menu (you can see a nice empty spot instead) then you probably don't have the IPX protocol installed.

How to install it:

Go to Start - Settings - Control Panel.

There select Network (Settings) and (this one differs per operating system/computer) you must find something like "LAN"

Anyway, you must come to a dialog (you might need to click on "properties" somewhere) where you see 3 tabs some buttons, and a list with various items.

If you scroll down that list, you'll must find something with "TCP/IP" and if you don't have anything with "IPX/SPX" in the list (otherwise, I can't help you) do the following:

Click on the button "Install"

Then select "Protocol"

Now you must find something with "IPX/SPX", when found, select it and install the component.

Now LAN should work in Dune 2000

That is all I can say.
