Map Editor Problem under Win2k

Hello everyone,

i'm trying to get the Map Editor to work under Win 2k. The Problem is that the Map Editor crashes when i'm clicking on "New Map". Has anyone experienced the same problems and maybe has a solution for it?

The official map editor for Emperor: Battle for Dune. This was moved from the Emperor message boards, so I'm assuming that's what's being discussed here.

Yepp, the official map editor for Emperor is the problem (or better, makes the problem).

It has to be a Win2k-Problem because the Editor works under Windows 98 SE on my Notebook. The performance of the notebook is... well... not the best, so i would appreciate getting that thing to work on my Win2k-System.

My Win2k-System is an AMD 1800XP+, 512MB RAM, GeForce 4MX. Could it be the nVidia Detonator Driver?

Unfortunately, I have no experience with the map editor. Maybe someone from editing has seen this problem before ?

Well its hard to say. Westwood released the map editor as is so it comes with no support from them. It is most likely a video card driver issue. Since the program isn't used by very many people its hard to suggest possible fixes, your best bet would be to try different drivers and see if it helps.
