I need some help pls :)

anytime I watch a movie I have this prob, after few seconds or mins the picture is stucked. The sound seem continue as nothing happened but the picture is not moving. I have Installed and deleted any codec I know and still nothing is changed. Can you guys help me?

it always happens. and yes in all video programs.

Try installing DX 9.0B from Microsoft.

Re-install your graphics card drivers.

If that doesn't work then can you post your DXDIAG report please.

To run dxdiag:Start/select run, type in the box that appears dxdiag.

Run all the tests, then save the report and attach it in your post.

(are you running win xp ?)

I re installed all the drivers but i still have the prob. And yes, im using windows xp.

I can see the problem now ! Leo.

Your page file is to small, increase it.

Also download the Service pack 1 for win xp

What happens is that if Windows uses all your Ram memory it then uses the page file as virtual memory.

If this is set too low then you get the problems described.

Try setting it to minimum of 768MB.

Erm! you could also lower your desktop resolution to 16 bit instead of 32 bit which it is at present.

Your PC specs are also fairly low end.

So I'm not surprised your having some problems.

When did you last defrag your hard drive ?

In Windows XP a page file is also called virtual memory, like in win 98.

I already explained what it is for in my previous post.

I will explain why defragmenting your C Drive is so important to the speed of your computer.

Here goes:

When Windows saves any file it marks this file, so it can be found again.This file is stored on your hard drive as are all other files , if your drive becomes fragmented it means the files are stored all over your hard drive in small packets.

So when your hard drive is accessed by windows, it has to look for the files all over the place, instead of one or 2 locations.

So it takes much longer to find them and load them into memory.

If you imagine an old record player, and you position the pick up arm all over the record to play one song , then you will get the idea I mean.

When you defragment a drive, windows moves all the files one by one, so that they are quicker to access.That is why defragmenting takes so long to do.

To change the size of the pagefile, Open the control panel, click on system, then advanced tab,performance,settings, then advanced, then virtual memory , change tab.

Then enter in the minimum size box 768MB.

Defrag first though, like I said.

You don't have much room on your hardrive, can you un-install some programs to free up some room ?

Did you download and install the service pack for windows ?

What exactly changed just before it stopped working ?

Also update your sound card drivers, they also cause choppy video playback.
