First of all gratulation and thanks for this really nice site about the whole Duniverse. Several months ago I bought the English (American) Version of Emperor.

Unfortunality there was no manual in it; neigher on paper, nor on one of the CD's. On dune2k.com I read this game-specification:

Do you have to play online for using this function? When I played the game on Lan we couldn't find it.

Furthermore I would like to know, if it is able to play Emperor via Internet with two CD's of the same game version?

If Emperor is installed on both computers it should be possible to play using different house discs.

I think the Campaign option is available online only.

But do you have the version 1,09 patch for emperor, this fixes a number of online issues and LAN options.

Co-op is only playable thru the Internet via EA game servers. There is a Battle-Lan prog that fakes a LAN enviro to allow 8 internet players to battle.

I am unsure as far as using two disk to play online, I do not think it would let you play thru the EA server that way.

Make sure to visit the Emperor Essentials thread and get the latest patch and the mappacks.

If you go online with one emp installation, you will be promted to install the patch, if you click ok it will automatically install it for you.

I had already installed the patch, when the first problems in combination with Norton Anti Virus appeared. (The game doesn't start while NAV is running.) I have returned to Antivir now.

That's bad. :( I've just tested the Battle-Lan program, but the coop-mode didn't function anyway.

Ok. How to do a co-op campaign online on wol.

Start Emp, log in and host a game, then put a tick in the box co-op campaign, your friend has to log in and join your game, then you can both play through the campaigns together.

for co-op u both need to have the cd of the house u play.

I've just tested the Battle-Lan program, but the coop-mode didn't function anyway.

The battle lan program allows you to play up to 8 players for skirmish games only without using WOL.

Co-op games on the other hand can only be played via the WOL server
