that's a quit commen error for ZH. That or the houses being missing, the ground looking blocky / fussy. . things like that.

Usually you can fix it by changing drivers. Omega drivers or pevious verions of the driver manufacteror.

Do you knwo if he tried one of those things ?

I don't think the Geforce 2 supports side band addressing, or fast writes.

ZH needs Side Band addressing to work properly.

Maybe your friend should upgrade his graphics card.

Generals Zero Hour is a really graphics intensive game, the card he's got just won't hack it.

no, last night i told him to try play generals (not zh) and so he started it and well... the land was black!!! and i remmember good days when we played generals all the time and he had no problems... so his Geforce 2 supports generals, but what the hell is the problem?

Has he upgraded his cards drivers ? when did the problem start ? has he changed any hardware and noticed the fault then.

What has he changed since the game used to work ?

Ask him to post his DXDIAG report . Please :)

Does the game run at all, ie does he hear audio ? can he see any units etc on screen.

He is playing and all, only instead of ground he see black.. just black... :O he says that it was since he bought zero hour.. he changed alot of drivers since it began (omegas too) and nothing helped.. the only thing he changed was to install zh...[attachment deleted by Gobalopper]
