...for which I, for one, would like to express gratitude for their being available.  Now, I'm wondering as to whether it is indeed possible to extract as .wavs the varied unit soundbites and make them similarly available, for those of us who'd find them spiffy event sounds (Windows and messenger events, taunts for those games which support imports, et cetera).

You can always do it on this way:

You need 2 computers, and with one play the sounds. And record with the other. It's a last possibility. But there is no alternative :(
