Fed2k-Recognition

I've been thinking about this a lot recently, and I think the few really active Dune fan sites deserve more recognition. Fed2k, Dreamers of Dune, and though we here may not like them, the Landsraad. I think we should try and perhaps prepare a petition to have links to some of these sites added to the DuneNovels website.

i completely agree. I think that the work this community has done for dune is worth of recognition. Perhaps we can attract brian herbert and the other writer do the dune2k forums, perhaps have a little chat with them.

I'm sure we could get Byron Merritt to join. He struck me as an EXTREMELY nice and down to earth guy. I think if we created a private board, and only allowed Landsraad, Staff and the like access to it, along with him, we could make our case. This way, no spammers or... distasteful sorts can muck it up for us ;D

heheh true, but that would not be fair towards the other members, besides, the landsraad would not be representative to our site. It would be great if it worked though. Does dunenovels have a forum or something where we can ask them?

Nope, just a contact address. But not just the Landsraad... Forum Staff, Landsraad, Editing Team, Fed2k Staff.... and anyone else who wants to be included can ask, and if they are approved, can temporarily gain access or something. I think we should definitely push for something like this flamy ;)

I think it can be an open discussion because we have very active moderators here who would stomp any abusive members very quickly.

I suppose that's true. Nevermind then. I guess once we get this to Gob's and the like's attention, I'll invite Byron over :)

Kevin e-mailed me, maybe two years ago, and asked permission to add FED2k to a community links page on the official site they were making. Obviously, the apge never happened. Can't remember if that was before or after they fired there webmaster for ripping them off.
