I am nearing completion of my Imperial Civil War Mod for Campaign use. :)

I am presently looking at the AI to make it tougher on the early missions where the Tech Tree and build options are constrained (to help new users learn EBFD without getting killed all the time).

As the mod is going to be large (probably 10-15Mb after zipping) how do I go about getting it added to the Dune Editing site? ???

I will IM Inoculator9 soon (I will try this week) with details but as I have not yet written the readme and still have to check skirmish colours work on the Tleilaxu-Guild superunit (chaos-leech NIABTank) and do a bit more AI testing (we dont want it too hard on the later missions!) it will be a few days yet.

As to file space the textures are 10Mb (unzipped) and the xbf units are 10Mb (unzipped) and I have forgotten how large the building xbfs are...so I think there is a strong possibility it will go over 10Mb, so looks like I probably will need to FTP the files. :- In which case I will IM Gobalopper.

It looks like it may be another month yet. I have discovered that I have not purged all of the earlier textures and xbfs (I must be on about version 4 of my designs!). I need to sort all these out before release and unfortunately I am away on business until the middle of November.

Oops, just checked my readme. GoldEagle started the Corrino infantry textures off for another mod we were making, but when we quit with that, I completely redid them. I put him in the credits because it was his texture that I essentially learned how to texture from. So yeah, in the best sense, that texture was made by me.

Well if that is how we measure credits, then it is all down to me as I re-did absolutely everything. ;)

However without everyone else's mods, tutorials, xbfs and textures I would never have known where to start, so with that in mind I will change the Corrino Expansion credit in the readme to both you and GoldEagle jointly 8)

Trying to track down an error that stopped the Duke Achillus on caladan mission from running I have accidentally overwritten my Rules file! And I also lost the backup moving the files around!

I should never have tried to change the fremen machine gunner to plasma rocket and tried adding extra stealth harvester and stealth carryall units!

I still have all the bullets and turrets (I had copied those to a new rules file when I accidentally saved over the original rules file) and all the Artini file, I must re-write all the unit definitions in the rules file.

Its going to take quite some time...so dont bother holding your breath!

:) Some good news for a change!

I am progressing with the re-inputting of the unit models in Rules file, and I have changed things around a bit, making a few more new units available to all houses at 2nd level tech buildings (rather than one unique unit per side). Examples are Hover tanks firing a single devastator weapon, TL repair tank to hover tanks firing either dual Gunship rockets or firing dual Assault tank cannons.

I have also decided that both the Imperial Sardaukar and the Imperial Renegades (Tleilaxu) will have house specific versions of Devastators as the highest units from the 3rd level Tech buildings.

Levels are for Imperial Sardaukar (all new textures)

1) Sardaukar Barracks, 2) Research Building (replaces IMMonument), then 3) Imperial Pyramid Palace.

For Imperial renegade Levels:

1) Renegade Barracks (replaces TLFleshVat), then 2) Research Building using TLGreenHouse model (replaces GuBubble which is actually used as TLGreenHouse in standard game) and finally 3)FleshVat (replacing the SMStarport model).

I still have to fully test out the new AI, but it does make it much tougher to play as the AI has more defence capability. (I have not touched unit numbers for attacks).

Oh I have fixed the Atreides campaign problem, so hopefully it will now play in all campaigns. (I have yet to test the last homeworld and Guild missions).

I am hoping now for an early Xmas present to you all. I will keep you posted.

Inoculator9 and I have just about finished the Imperial Civil War Mod, and all that is left to do is put the install routine together and then get it posted up onto Dune Editing. Hopefully it should thus be up on Dune Editing very soon.
