i got my mouse wet and now it doesnt stop scrolling down.....

after i wet it i dried it out with a hairdryer...

it worked fine for about an hour then it started scrolling down non-stop :(

It's still wet, try not to drip coffee on it lol

The cure ! put in a thickish towel, not too thick !

and place it on a radiator overnight upside down with the ball removed, this should fix the problem. ;)

Heh heh, I used to repair TV's and HIFI equipment, you'd be surprised what people do.

Like one guy brought in his video because he couldn't insert the cassette into the bay.

Turned out his young son had tried to feed it on toast !

What a mess ! ;D

I borrowed some batteries from my brother once, and they exploded inside the mouse(a wire-less one). I opened it and removed the battery acid with a cotton stick, but it was never good again.

I borrowed some new batteries from him, which exploded too(!!!), and then the mouse was dead, and has always been...

pff that's not hard, i've witnessed the horror that my sister threw a glass of limonade on my keyboard, half of the numpad was sticky and hardly worked

One remedy... never put your drink to close to any equipment. It's not that difficult...

Children ARE difficult. Of all people on this forum i expected you to know that.

No they're not. Just prohibit drinks near the pc. I did the same with my daughter and works flawlessly (obviously that resulted me in not having my drink near the pc as well, but can live with that)..

Ahh k, then your children are easier than my sister. Pff we said so... NO DRINKS NEAR THE COMPUTER!. Weeks later... "Uhm mum, i accidently threw the coca cola over the desktop" :-[

Well, goodbye numpad, we cleaned it but it never got back to normal. Luckily that is a while ago so we have a new keyboard now

Coca cola leaves a residue between the carbon contacts and the rubber mat that strikes down making contact when you strike a keyboard key.

To remove this use Isoproponol,(alcohol) available from any chemists(Apotheke).

Use a cotton bud soaked in Iso. and clean the litle carbon contacts and any traces of coke away.

It should work again after this !

This also works for you guys kids who have soaked the TV/VCR remote control in drinks like Coca cola or similar. ;) ;D
