Geforce FX5900 Ultra 256MB DDR AGP RP ViVo DVI VO

can some one plz explain to me what this ;'DDR AGP RP ViVo DVI VO' all means?

DDR: Double Data Rate (memory)

ViVo: Video in - Video out

AGP: Accelerated Graphics Port (your video card slot)

RP: No idea...

DVI: Digital Video Input (?)

RP is beyond me too, but I can explain VIVO :)

VIVO:

Means that the card has both video in and video out.

Video Out:

Means that the graphics card is able to transfer signals to other devices than just your monitor. This includes your tv.

It's great for watching DIVX movies on your tv, but I must mention that it isn't legal to download movies and watch them like this :P

Video In:

The opposite of Video Out :)

DVI isn't video input ;)

It's a digital monitor connector. Where the blue connector at the back of a video card is an analog one, some cards have a digital out that is slightly larger and white.

TV in and out will not by done by coaxial cable, S-video or the connector showed in the picture above will be on it. The only things in a computer that use coaxial cables ar older 10mb netwrok cards or TV / radio tuner cards. Below you can see both interfases possible for TV in [ and out ] on a grafics card.

PCI - Peripheral Component Interconnect

it are the whit slots on your motherboard in which aditionad hardware can be placed, like soundcards, network cards things like that.

OEM original equipment manufacturer

it usually is used for software and hardware that is being sold without a box or additiocal support.

dual head a feature of some grafics cards. They have 2 the same outputs. 2 VGA or 2 DVI outputs. You can attach 2 monitors to it and use them with dirreferent settings. [ most new grafics cards have the same feature possible from an TVout ] I own a couple of Matrix cards myself withthat feature [ Matrox has become "famous" for the dual out ]. You can give each display another function in some games, with Unreal 2003 your vieuwpoint will be begger by 2 screens [ pretty weird ]. Things like that.

MAC Macintosh, it not a computer as most of use have, which is an Intell based personall computer. A Macintosh is another form of computer [ not called PC but MAC for short ] It's usually used for grafical or musical designing and editing purposes. You can have a look at the Apple's homepages for more info.

USB Universal Serial Bus

A connection type. USB has th eabilety to support 15 devices [ I thought ] on on USB port. And they are plug and play compattible. Meaning you can take them out and put them in without restarting or configuring your OS.

SVGA Super VGA

it's a resolutians thing.

Display Mode Resolution (pixels)

VGA 640 x 480

SVGA 800 x 600

XGA 1024 x 768

SXGA 1280 x 1024

UXGA 1600 x 1200

firewire Some idea as an USB port, jus a little bit faster. ... usually used to attach photocamera equipment to the computer. Or an external HD.

DVR, should that be DVD-r ? The abilety to record a DVD yourself. . ..

no its definatly DVR...

SVGA Super VGA

it's a resolutians thing.

Display Mode Resolution (pixels)

VGA 640 x 480

SVGA 800 x 600

XGA 1024 x 768

SXGA 1280 x 1024

UXGA 1600 x 1200

so does that mean SVGA card will work best on 800x600 res?

oh, and also,

so what will the digital output do exactly when compared to the analog one?

I think DVR means Digital Video Recording.

Almost, DVR stands for Digital Video Recorder. And it's more like a VCR then a TV chip. ;)
