I got this one day randomly, I didn't install/download/change anything so it restarted and came back like three minutes in and it's been doing it ever since, please help it's urgent.

I think you have a virus. You should run your antivirus software and scan your hold hard drive. You should also turn on real time protection if you anti virus software has such a feature (which it should). RPC is built on top of TCP/IP and allows programs to run on your system that remote systems can access. It is most likely a trojan that is trying to make a port available on your system and XP is crashing for some reason because of this.

Well, I think I found the issue: it's a song, or two...Not sure which one but I've targetted two. Funny thing is, it doesn't crash unless I play one of the two songs.

Playing an mp3 should not cause your system to crash. Have you scanned your system for a virus? You should you know.

It's a worm. There has been an email on the fulldisclosure mailinglist about it a week ago or so. If you like I could find it [ I get about 30 of them a day so I don't have it at hand ]. Scan the 2 songs [ how did you get them ], and reinstall watever programm you use to play them with.

Fixed it, patch did it, thanks. I knew about the XP Security issue but I had a sense of invincibility that obviously didn't pay off. ;D
