hey

I tried to play a ladder game, so i ran that XCL proxy program.

But then i get this :

recieving : done

sending : failed

Do all players have to run the program so it counts ?

I have windows millenium and i dont have the file WINDOWS/hosts to change that line ??????

No its just one who has to run the program.I too run Millenium and if u go to start>search>for file or folders>type hosts>then u open the one named"HOSTS"and open it with notepad, there should look something like this

This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP stack for Windows98

#

# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each

# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should

# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.

# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one

# space.

#

# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual

# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.

#

# For example:

#

# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server

# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

127.0.0.1 games2.westwood.com

those two 127. bit u should type

hope this help.

Cybo

P.S if it does`nt work, check out page 4-6 I think on the topic "Our own wol",to check that u got the latest version of the xcl proxy program

Ok, if you really dont have the hosts file, then create it. copy paste from here two lines and save as c:windowshosts:

127.0.0.1 localhost

127.0.0.1 games2.westwood.com

remember, no .txt no .anything just "hosts" with no file ending
