Zensunni kindred

The Fremen and Tleilaxu both speak a parent language that is almost identical (forgot what it was called, it is in heretics). They hold to their sufi/sunni islamic/zen buddhistic beliefs almost exactly similar. They are only differenciated by the gap of time they have spent away from eachother, as well as being in totally different enviornments which change culture and religion. They talk about this "great belief". also about zensunni ecumenism. They saythat this is their origin. It seems that during the C.E.T. they melded with others and hold the OCB as holy. They also seem to have changed after time. They originally were zensunni as the fremen are, but something happened even before the C.E.T. it seems. The DE says that there was a "third Mohammed" and that he founded the ways of islam as we see it in Dune. What I am asking is this, are these two kindred? Also what is the story about the break off of the tleilaxu from the zensunni wondering?

I do not know alot about it, but I'll give it a try since it looks amusing :P

Tleilaxu got an evolutionary pressure unto them: they had danger around them. I think that from there, their ideology was corrupted to something pretty defensive, changes meant for survival, power. Look at Fremens, and you'll see that they also adapted to an environment, and they also went on the same way: not being seen. But for the rest, they adapted differently (for some reasons).

Don't know, perhaps the tleilaxu were get a bit sure of themselves right when they were on thalim. Or was thalim one of the zensunni wanderers planets? The only ones I know of are Bela Teguese and Arrakis.

Btw, the lingo is called Islamiyat.

Great belief could just be belief in the superiority in Buddislam.

One could hope that BH/KLA mention something about this in the next book, but I'm not keeping anything crossed......

Tio: No, there were no planets in the Thalim system where the Zensunni stopped during their forced migrations. In fact, Tlailax is the only planet in the Thalim system.

Anyway, perhaps the Tlilaxu had renounced their faith, while the Zensunni were being persecuted. It was only after the creation of their own society that they regained their religion? Really, it could be just about anything. A lot can hapen in ten thousand years.

I think you just pegged it there. It could be that during the C.E.T., the Zensunni leaders were asked to join the ecumentical churches. Many of them broke off and began to wonder from planet to planet as outcasts, some conformed to the C.E.T. and held not only their docterns as holy but also the entire Orange catholic bible as holy. They then sprouted out from there. what do you think?

Well look at this persecution, and look at the Tleilaxu. A huge part of their ideology is, I think, caracteristic of reactions to persecutions. From there, they get very secretive and develop a very us-them dualism and therefore mechanisms of protections towards the them.

Well, the original Zensunni were caused by the split with the 3rd mohammed maometh (1381 BG) so perhaps they were together until something else after that.

Maybe the split happened on bene tleilax and one faction got evicted and had to move on.
