Hyper
Did you try the compatibility option ?Also, could you attach your dxdiag output ?I've tried all the compatibility options, none of them worked though.Direct X output is attached. That copy of Norton sound auwfully familliar in relation to problems with Dune Emperor.Hope a directX file would help find other problems if any. :)At least they're aware of the issue themselves. Symantec doesn't seem to care about it at all though.[attachment archived by Gobalopper]
Nyarlathotep
I couldn't find anything that isn't right in your dxdiag. You could try to set your desktop resolution to 16 bit.Are you able (and willing) to try and uninstall Symantec and see what happens then (you probably need to re-install EBFD) ? Nyarlathotep
Duke, please take a look in this thread. That should solve your problem. Btw Hyper, did you try that as well ?

It'll take some time because I need to find the cds and everything.Duke, please take a look in this thread. That should solve your problem. Btw Hyper, did you try that as well ?Yes I've tried that as well. It only helps a bit. It passes the loading screen, goes through the logos (which it didn't do before) and then crashes to desktop.By the way I removed the .exe from the zip file and put in the original one since it didn't help. Apollyon
My friend had *exactly* the same problem. He had to reformat before it worked and I think you will as well.
Hyper
I couldn't find anything that isn't right in your dxdiag. You could try to set your desktop resolution to 16 bit.Are you able (and willing) to try and uninstall Symantec and see what happens then (you probably need to re-install EBFD) ?Okay, I finally got the time to do the large operation you asked for, and here is the outcome:1. Uninstall of Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 8.02. Game still not working :-3. Reinstall of game4. Game working :)5. Update of game6. Game still working :)7. Reinstall of Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 8.08. Game not working again :----I guess that pretty much defines the problem. What do I do next? It has never let me down.Sorry to say this so bluntly Hyper, but your problem seems to be Norton. Believe me when I say you're not the first and certainly won't be the last.. Believe me when I say you're not the first and certainly won't be the last..So there is no cure other than removing Norton? Dammit why can't Symantec just pull themselves together and fix the damn problem.
gryphon
I'm nor really shure if the problem is Symantec's fault. . .they might be the only ones who can make a good virus-scanner, or they might not be. The fact remains that WinXP-Dune Emperor-Norton AV is not a good combination. ...
