Interesting article, lotsa info. Not quite as long either ;)

The source, Hitler's FAQ, doesn't seem to be very credible, but I'll just leave it alone.

As I have said many times before, it is hard to establish what his beliefs really were. There's also the variable of trusting which quote, even private ones (which may have been more private lying, suading the single person instead).

Hitler indeed followed a belief that was altered by many people around him. People like Himmler and others were extreme "pagans", who worshiped a massive quantity of many different beliefs. Various religious and spiritual devices were found or contrived in order to turn the tide of the war towards nazi germany. How is it that you posted a few quotes from hitler which were spoken to many people or were going to be reiterated to the people of germany? He of course wanted the people to believe in a germany of righteousness and family values, under the protection of "christ". Many germans were of christian faith, and would openly attack Adolf Hitler if he said anything against christianity. The point is, propaganda is a powerful tool. Look at the catholic church during the dark ages of europe. The authorities gave out total mistruths about what the bible said. They told the people that mary was a mediator between christ and the church, that the blood and flesh of christ come along side the communion during eucharist. During missionary travels, they encorperated many pagan symbols into their doctern in order to help convert the native peoples. Take for example the celtic cross, It has the symbol of the sun in the fulcrum of the cross. This was used because a local diety was the sun god, and had many similarities with christ. It actually worked too and many converts were won to the catholic church. All of this was against the bible though. There are even some bishops and cardinals who were complete unbelievers. They only were apart of the church for their own agendas. Hitler can say all he wants, that doesnt mean he means it. especially when he is speaking to the people of germany who he is trying to persuade in the first place. He is machiavelian and will use all sorts of dirty tactics and tools at his disposal, including propaganda.

acriku, with all information given to you, you just throw it off and pick out any kind of thing to discredit it. There is a place in the bible where he talks with the biased pharasies and states "We played the pipe for you, but you did not dance, we mourned with you, but you did not weep."

He was stating that no matter what he said, the pharasies wouldnt believe him. Are you open minded?

Obviously the author isn't relating Hitler's actions with Jesus himself, but with what Jesus did/said.

Show me ONE Bible quote in which Jesus tells people to kill each other, and/or to base their lives around the principles of social darwinism. ::)

and the whole pont is, why in the hell are you relating hitler to jesus' works anyway? there has to be some sort of drive against christianity for that to happen.

It is very hard to establish and conclude what beliefs Hitler had. He was the perfect leader, charming and assertive, and his quotes can say many things. He has many quotes supporting christianity and his belief in christ...

Hitler wasn't a good leader he was a moron. He probaly would have won that war had he not been so stupid. Go after Russia when he did. He faught on to many fronts and made to many stupid decisions.

I agree Hitler made many horrible, somewhat obvious mistakes, but his rise to power was pretty impressive. Just think, if the Threatre of Fine Arts had accepted Adolf, this might never have happened...
