Perhaps you should take a look at who owns 99% of those countries' infrastructure and means of production... yes, that's right, your innocent little corporations!

And just what power do you think all those pathetic governments have when all their countries' economies are in corporate hands?

(except in North Korea's case, of course - it's a stalinist regime)

Edit: Unfortunetaly, Ace, it is you who live in the fluffy consumerist paradise that was custom-made for you by your friendly corporate masters. You see, they want you to be happy and blind, because it's good for business. Just like having millions of children die of starvation on the other side of the world is also good for business. They produce, you consume. Simple, isn't it?

Every country has resources. Some less marketable than others at this point in economic time. Does TFE own 99% of Libya? Oh please, Edric, be realistic. If those nations were to embrace capitalism and produce and consume for themselves, (or produce for export and import to consume) then they wouldn't be in the hole that they are in. A perfect example is South Korea.

Those nations HAVE embraced capitalism, Ace! They are part of the global capitalist economy! It's just that they got the ugly side of the glorious capitalist dream, the one that you are not supposed to see.

In capitalism, there is always a poor oppressed majority that produces, and a wealthy priviledged elite that consumes. Some people (or, in the case of global capitalism, whole populations) move between these two classes, becoming exploiters themselves after they have been exploited, or falling from grace into the exploited class after they have been exploiters.

You can't have a rich and opulent West without a poor and destitute 3rd World, any more than you can have a bourgeoisie without a proletariat. Free the proletariat from capitalist shackles, and bourgeois capitalism will crumble into dust. Free the 3rd World from corporate shackles, and global capitalism will be nothing more than a bad memory, lost somewhere in Mankind's dark past!

Now, more than ever, the old Marxist motto stands true:

Workers of all nations, unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains.

the ultimate goal in life for philosophers and sages is to know yourself, and to know others. I know I am closed minded, but gain strength from that. Whether it is true or not is irrelavent to your cause, therefore we have all relevancy to care about your cause because we have reason to save you. you can save us from nothing because we know ourselves and others. whether or not its true is dependant upon faith.

is it our nature to be independant? or are we independant because we wish to fight nature?

I believe we fight God. We fight nature because we wish to have our own ways.

And those who try to take away the chance to have our own ways, back on Earth, deserve to be locked up. Or atleast stoned/burned, if we want it the christian way ;) (JOKE DO NOT BE OFFENDED)

That was un-called for Acriku.

Edric, I give up - you are impervious to realism. If you don't want to work, fine! Just don't expect to eat for very long...

For three days I'm off and what a mess is here now. To talk about religion, we must look only on closer, small society with maximum size of a town. In this you cannot think like politician. That's why I don't support theocracy. Marx' fault was in that he wanted to rule the world like one street lives - what is unreal.

But let's get back to topic.
