I never really got this one thing form the beginning movie of ebfd on Kaitan. what does the guild guy mean by "the spice must flow..." or at least i htink thats what he said.

it's just sort of a ..i guess slang way of saying that the spice production on arrakis must continue..

its because without the spice the benne Jesserit (sp?) and the spacing guild need the spice for their powers to work

Spice must flow because its the only substance in the universe that allows navigators to shift space and make inter-steller space travel possible. Also, it extends human life by many times over, and finally the Bene Gerrisit need it.
