Terror Posted May 31, 2002 Share Posted May 31, 2002 true.. formatting does increase performance. but you can also use defragmentation. sure the increase in performance will not be as great as when you format it but it's a lot easier and saves a lot more time. But, this is big, But, if I had a CD writer, I would be an evil formatter to, but until then, I can't keep my setups and files safe, so I can't format. I don't even have the windows XP disc anymore.
