Some thought he will become "Vaclav V." as a new Czech king, but he didn't. After 13 years, yesterday he left the Prague castle, leaving Czech Republic without a president. Great politician and leader of the velvet revolution in 1989, he who brings the culture to our politics. Even after Czechoslovakia parted into separate states, we all were looking at him as honorable and respectable leader. Dlouhy zivot, Vasku, dekujeme!

No, his power will be (altough limited) in hands of government until parliament elects a new president. New needs 3/5 of all members in both chambers, so it's hard because all parties are now nominating their own candidate. In Slovakia we had same situation in 1998 and we solved it after a year with novelization of constitution to straight citizen elections like most countries west from us have.
