i am relativly new to the game but have been addicted to Dune 2000 for a long time. i have a problem though, all i seem to use are tanks and rarely use infantry. how can i make them more affective. i read somewhere that you can send them into the baracks ane produice higher levels than whithout. how can i do that?

it's only if you use house atreides. when a sniper or a kindjal reaches Third level you can send him into the barracks and your sniper or kindjal all get upgraded one level. and you should definetely look into some strategies using infantry. they are essential to victory. when playing an ordos player who likes to rush it's not only a good idea but IMPERATIVE that you build numerous amounts of infatry to either slow down laser tanks or destroy them, slow down dusties or destory them, and then a bunch of snipers for take out the gasers. The atreides infantry are the atreides player's best friend against ordos rushing.

Edit - That and a mino or two ::) ;D

well the light infantry troops of Atreides can be trained too but they usslly dont live long enuff to make it back into the barracks to train. unless you use them to attack a worm a few times... but like rogue said once hte infatry reaches 3rd lvl chevron you can order him into the barracks like you would an engineer. One lvl 3 infantry will train a one chevron infanrty so in order to train lvl 3 snipers you will need three lvl 3 snipers and same for kindjals and light infantry.

There is somewhere in the Emperor Strategy Board a topic about what units get when they become veteran. Say if you need it and I send the link to you
