There is another option, depending on what kind of server you want to setup. If it's just to play online against people you can set up an VPN server and log into that. Then just play the game "locally" on your own network.

But then it's only available for people who have access to that VPN server.

A bit more trouble, but it works. :)

[ I didn't say this but at that way you can play against others who don't have a legal serial code for there game ;) ]
