I was playing Emp on the weekend after a long long time out, I joined a 2X2 and started building up a base with defences - 3 refineries enough wimtraps a barracks war factory a radar dome sardaukar barracks and loads of missle/machine gun towers. My ally had 1 refinery a war factory radar barraks and told me to build defences in HIS Base while he tried to build up loads of assault tanks and missle tanks >:(. I tried to defend his base but I couldn't build up enough to defend my base and his while still building up sards, minotaurs and mongooses. The enemy, working together but independantly stormed his base so he quit. I tried to take them all out, and hit with a massive counter attack but there were oomany of them, I took out about a third of them but there was too many of them and I died. I caught up with the guy in another server and he called me a newbie because I couldn't defend both of our bases!! >:(

Ah well, hes a new player or just one that doesn't get it, as annoying as it maybe you must give this player time and when the time comes they'll be a good player and understand their own faults. But for now just let it go, I've had annoying people say stuff like that to me but there learning and we all did at one time after all :).

How late was this into the game? It looks like this guy is a newbie because he should have had a lot more base facilities than he had (in comparison to what you had when he only had what he had.) He wasn't building fast enough, or he just didn't manage his money properly. Don't worry about him. He shouldn't expect you to compensate for his inept gameplay and try to defend yourself as well. I know the feeling, I've been in situations where I've been letting my partner down and vice versa. If I think someone really needs help I'll invite them for a game with comps in it after the game has finished, and give them some advice. But that's only in rare circumstances, and only if I'm in the mood. If it looks like my partner is a newbie, and the two opponents are good players, I won't even play the game for very long. I'll just say to everyone that I can't look after a newbie as well as myself, and then quit. (Of course, I wouldn't say it exactly like that, but you get the picture.) ;)
