well that can be no problem ;D cuz winxp handles 512 mb ram excellent (win98 and millenium does not) well let me ask Relic entertainment for that problem. perhaps they have an answer :) if they answer i'll post it here :)

ah w8 you said patch 1.05? what i've seen was the 1.0.0.1 patch try this link, it says that it fixes cd-rom finding issues:

One last try of me :). You said you had two cd-rom/DVD players? You have installed it multiple times but also on different cd-rom/DVD players? or always the same. If always the same try to install and run it on the other. It might work because it detects that one as the primary player instead of the secondary. I know that some games have problems with that. And since you don't have anything to lose you could try it.
