That's a hell of a coincidence; I just finished watching the first two parts a day before this trailer dropped.

Right after watching them, I watched this fan edit of David Lynch's 1984 Dune movie, which restructures the plot to make it more chronological and restores a lot of scenes, some of them with unfinished special effects:

Now I just gotta rewatch the Dune mini series, although I remember it pretty well. Those costumes were epic lol, and out of the 3 pieces of Dune cinema, it adapted the most plot from the books

I enjoy all three flavors of Dune movies/TV. They all have their pros and cons. The newest movies are well filmed; the special effects and cinematography are great. But they leave out the most plot and have the least amount of direct dialogue from the book. The overall look and set pieces are drab, but the ornithopters are good.

The original movie from the 80's has better set pieces, more interesting architecture and space ships. It's scenes and dialogue are much closer to the book. Then again, the weirding module was invented for this movie. It's not a bad idea but it's hard to make it seem cool 100% of the time. In some scenes it comes across as badass, and in others it's kind of cringe, seems stupid. This is ironic because David Lynch, the director of the movie, thought the original concept of the weirding way wouldn't seem cool to audiences. He thought "karate in space" was dumb, so that's why he invented the sound weapons. Ultimately I'm glad he did though, because "my name is a killing word" is an iconic line and scene.

Dune 1984 never finished filming all of the desert scenes where Paul joins the Fremen. That's why that whole arc seems rushed. He joins the Fremen almost instantly. This is where the newer movies are better, they do a good job showing Paul and Jessica's ascension, and fleshing out Paul and Chani's interactions. Same with Stilgar and Gurney. The best part of the newer movies are fight scenes, especially the knife fights/shields. But I was disappointed to learn the director of the newer Dune movies (Denis whatever his last name is) had cut out a lot of character development scenes for the traitor plotline, even though he had filmed quite a few scenes:
