yes it does look a lot like the Mi-24 Hind, btw has anyone heard from OrLoK I haven't seen him in a while, and he haven't added much on his site :(

Um... correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought helicopters had rotors, not flapping wings, as this 'thopter does.

They do Nema but most of the guys are talking about a Soviet military helicopter that this image seems to be based on. That would be minus the thoper wings.

Yeah it does look like the body of the hind. you can take out the rotors pretty easily in a 3d program.

That's true. We could ask Orlok, but the last time I saw him was months ago (dunesday, as I recall) - and I've emailed him since, but no response has come yet.
