I know that this is a dune board and all but when i go to play red alert 2 on my computer it always locks up when it first loads...?any ideas?

Posting your system information would probably help...

yeah it probably would. pentium 4, 512 mem. , 64 mb viedo, geforce 2, 42Xcd rom drive.. newest directx and all..

Could you attach your dxdiag to your reply. Go to start => run and type there dxdiag. Make sure you run the tests on the display and sound tab. Save the output as a txt file on your desktop for easy access. When you reply, hit the browse button and attach the txt file.
