nemafakei Posted December 19, 2001 Share Posted December 19, 2001 Rear base and Forward base.The rear base is the total fortress. It also provides power and radar. The forward base is a platform from which to launch attacks - the army is there, and it takes care of attacks on it, while the rear base has lots of defending units and structures. The forward base contains Barracks, Factory, occasionally Fremen camp, while the rear base contains (3/4) of all refineries, as well as Ix. Advanced carryalls are also used in 3-4 groups of 5. This starts only later in the game, when you've already got lots of money, a big base and a full compliment of defences.And of course if you're running out of rock at home for, say helipads, you can always bring them to the forward base.
