Wow, that is really sad. I am embarrassed to say that my ancestors are from SE Italy. I cannot believe that the Italian navy did not at least do something for these poor people.

Don't feel embarrassed. Greece also belongs to NATO and I do not. Politicians should be embarrassed and maybe those who cast their vote for them.

They're pointing the finger at Libya. Have a boat overcrowded full of people and send it out in the ocean... (wouldn't the captain of boat know exactly how much boat can handle?)

The only way to blame NATO for that would be because they have not made land invasion into Tripoli (full scale invasion) to prevent this. But then they'd get blamed for invading Tripoli.

I doubt NATO can handle invading every single country that has uprisings. They can't even solve Iraq or Afghanistan.
