Dune Renegade?

I was just thinking, why dont westwood make a game similar to renegade, but in the Dune Universe. You could be a fremen warrior fighting of the Harkonnen iron grip. it would be great. And I think it would sell big time. :D

Don't know renegade, but it sound a little like Frank Herbert's Dune, doesn't it ?

( I have only seen a trailer from FHD, and as I mentiond I don't know renegade so it's just a guess. )

I've just seen it, cause i don't beleive it's out in Denmark yet. but it looks great ;D. And i don't like the engine in Frank Herbert's Dune. But as it's a Dune :D game i guess I'll give it a try.

I just played a demo version of Frank Herberts Dune, and it's pretty good. But I still don't like the engine though.

That might be incredibly difficult, depending on the complexity engine. And what you might be able to do will be very limited.

well then guess I have to "settle" with FH's Dune. It does'nt seem that bad after all. If only one could get through to westwood..... It's like they don't give a damn about Dune, I mean how stupid is it to release E:BFD and Yuri's revenge at the same time.

Of course WW doen't care about Dune, as a "story" then. They are a software company, they care about software and making proffit. An individual software designer ( a persone working with WW ) could care about Dune or any other story. Not the company WW however, they only use it to make software.

Yes I know, but it would be great though if we had a company like Lucas arts to develope Dune games. I guess the foundation for such a company have been non existing.

As I play the demo of FH's Dune I realize that I have misjudged it.  :D

But what do you think of the demo ? ( especially the gravics :) )  Just wondering, that's why :)

Dose any one know how hard it will be to make mods for Renegade?

I think it's very good. It's fresh I don't no what game it reminds me of, maybe they have learned a little from metal gear solid. But the graphic is cool, they use stuff from both David Lynch's movie and Harrison's mini's.

I liked the part in the demo where you could see Paul running away from a sandworm that came outoff the sand. Not for the grafics or things like that, just liked the scene.

The last time I looked for it they said it would be in the stores th 7th. But let's see now, computer games are always delied a hundred times in Denmark, I'm still waiting for Panzer Front (psx) to come out.

No, I've got some pictures from a couple of friends here in Holland along with 2 demo versions. I'll check out The Landsraad now.

I just god gamez magezine today ;D, where thay have a detailed description of renegade. It looks grrrrrrrrrrreat, I can't wait to get my dirty old klepto fingers in it. It seems like 2002 is going to be a great year, with renegade, FH's Dune, SoulreaverII, Metal Gear Solid 2(gotta get a ps2).

And now there is only 9 days until The Lord Of The Rings. ;D
